Gender Equality Project and Adherence to Women’s Empowerment Principles
This initiative follows three lines of actions: income flow, awareness and communication campaigns, and actions to promote work-life balance with focus on maternity protection.
During 2017, there were 60% of women participants in the Young Entrepreneurs Program in Argentina.
In addition, the Company continues offering specific benefits, including financial support for women employees with small children, summer camps, school kits, reduced workday for maternity reasons, and a program for the protection of pregnant women at work.
In 2017, Arcor Group adhered to the Women's Empowerment Principles. The WEPs (Women's Empowerment Principles) are the result of a collaboration between UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact. They provide practical guidance to businesses and the private sector on how to empower women in the workplace, markets and the community.
By adhering to these principles, Arcor Group is committed to: complying with and promoting gender equality; treating men and women fairly, respecting and supporting human rights and non-discrimination; ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all its workers; promoting women’s education, training and professional development; implementing enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women; promoting equality through community initiatives; measuring and publicly reporting on progress to achieve gender equality.
